The shoring crew managed to get 12 beams drilled, dropped, and filled today … even with the pole still in the way.

Speaking of the pole, we had a certified welder come out and build custom temporary bracing for the utility pole using a previously placed 35ft pile as an anchor. We want to make sure that when we drill near the pole there is no possibility of the utility pole falling over as I’d rather be on the safe side – although, the pole falling over might prod the utility company in to finishing our plans … or pressing charges, who knows. The bracing was done without damaging the pole in any way. We will remove the bracing as soon as the concrete in the pile closest to the pole cures (probably Monday).
