The second half of the steel was dropped off today… wow that is a lot of steel. A small hole was torched in to one end of each of the beams that will be used on Monday so that they can be lifted vertically and then lowered in to the holes.

We met with a few welders about bracing the utility pole (so that we don’t have to stop working while we wait for the electric company to finish their plans), the two steel moment frames our house requires, the spiral staircase, and the compression ring that supports the turret over the main stairwell.

Late in the day, a mechanic came out to service the 953C. I had never put much thought in to how the big equipment is serviced, but I suppose “on the job site” makes the most sense given moving the equipment is expensive and time consuming.
