The shoring drill rig will be dropped off at 9am tomorrow, followed by the first half of the I-beams between 11am and noon. Even though drilling will not start until Monday (May 9th), today was spent making final preparations for the shoring piles. This included cutting small 2ft wide strips out of the 100 year old, not really a retaining wall because it has no footing of any kind, wall (right side of image). Once the shoring is in place where these strips were cut, the sections of wall between the shoring piles can be taken out and replaced with lagging… although, this still leaves us with about 40ft of that wall to deal with – luckily our civil engineer is working on a plan.
