No site work was done on Saturday or Sunday, but it was back in full swing today.  Friday we only had a single truck making runs to the dump, today we had two.  Debris seems to disappear much faster with two trucks as there is a lot less downtime for the excavator operator.

The demo guys removed a block wall on the east side of the property (right side of the video), only to find another wall behind it.  The second wall is probably 80-90 years old and runs from one end of the property to the other.  The wall clearly needs to be replaced, since using bricks as concrete aggregate doesn’t make for a good footing for the final wall that will be built there.

Just to add to the fun, the entire driveway (east 15ft of the lot) was a thin slab of concrete (about 1in) poured on top of bricks.  Just another chance for Raphael to practice his sorting skills with the excavator.

At the end of the day, the front house and the east-middle house’s foundations are gone – see the time-lapse below.  Now we are just left with the remaining driveway, the west-middle house, and the rear house foundations.
